Connie Brought A Potted Flower
Connie Brought A Potted Flower
Two of my calligraphy buddies buy me lunch to celebrate the publication of Diamonds. Connie was host and mentor to my writer's group, Monday Night Writers, which I belonged to for over ten years of monthly sharing and some wonderful coast house weekends at Pajaro Dunes. Connie brought me the wonderful plant. She is the author of a cookbook Muse of Menus and self-published a biography if a friend from France. She has a wonderfully sardonic writing style. Most of my writing colleagues were much older than me. People do not tend to start writing their memoirs at the age of 29 as I did. Listening to the stories of these older writers was a utter lesson in life experiences for me. And I also challenged them. Connie mentioned at this lunch how eye opening it had been to hear my explicit pieces about having a relationship with two women and what a indulgence it had been to see into that world.

Please, if you know anyone who might benefit from this, send them there too. If you go to the locality before the latter half of July please bear in mind it's on the end of a very slow connection and may be frustrating. Go to www.zencookbook.com/ in the...
